On January 31, the men’s and women’s swim and diving team had a successful afternoon against Hamilton College. The women’s swim team defeated Hamilton 177-123, while the men won 170-128. All the Engineers greatly contributed to both men’s and women’s victories, especially with the outstanding efforts of senior Adam Kalish. He had quite the day, securing first place by just over a second for his 50-meter freestyle swim, and earned first place titles in his 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly events. Freshman Danielle Sauve had a spectacular day, too, helping to lead the Engineers to a first place win in a 400-yard freestyle relay, as well as picking up three solid top place victories in her 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events.
As for the divers, senior Miguel Hummel and junior Maggie Cullather won both of their 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. The Engineers hope to perform just as great, but even better in two weeks at the New York state championships.
